Whole culture of D. pteronyssinus

The whole mite cultures are produced by freeze drying a mite culture, in this case the D. pteronyssinus house dust mite. A whole culture consist of all the materials of the house dust mite cultivation, including mite bodies, eggs, larvae, skin parts, cultivation medium and the excrements. From egg to mite there are different stadia. Whole culture contains all components which are also present within households. In real life, atopic patients respond to the whole culture of house dust mites. Patients respond especially to the excrements of the mites, the size of excrements is between 20 and 60µm. With this size the particles are floating in the air. Citeq produces a controlled cultivation of house dust mites. Whole Cultures of Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus are mostly used as raw materials in the pharmaceutical production of vaccines and in vivo diagnostics.

The D. pteronyssinus (HDM) whole culture will be delivered in a vial of  1 gram of freeze-dried fine powder.

Certificate of analysis

Each product will be delivered with a certificate of analysis. The certificate of analysis provides information, e.g. allergenic pattern, protein content (BCA and Bradford method), endotoxin level, protein pattern and protease activity. On this page you can find an an example of this certificate. Large batches

We understand that if you are using source material which is fulfilling your wishes you would like to receive the same material again for future projects. To provide material from the same batch over a longer period of time we produce large batches. This way we have we a lot of material available from a specific batch. You can even place a reservation for future orders.

Whole culture vs Mite bodies

Both materials, whole cultures as well as mite bodies are active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) starting materials. This means these materials can be used for further processing such as extraction procedures under GMP pharmaceutical requirements by, for example, allergen vaccine producers and diagnostic companies.
