Cockroach allergens

Out of all the species there are only five cockroaches which commonly inhabit homes and have the potential to induce respiratory allergies. These 5 species are Blattella germanicaBlatta orientalisPeriplaneta americana, Supella longipalpis and Periplaneta fuliginosa. Sensitisation to these species in asthma patients varies between 30-60% worldwide.

Cockroach allergens are derived from several sources, such as saliva, fecal material, secretions, cast skins, debris, and dead bodies. Significant amounts of allergen can be recovered from cockroach washings and from the secretory debris called frass that accumulates in jars where cockroaches are kept in the laboratory.

Cockroach extracts and whole bodies

We deliver whole bodies and whole body extract of the following domestic cockroaches: German cockroach (Blattella germanica), American cockroach (Periplaneta americana), and Oriental cockroach (Blatta orientalis). The whole bodies and extracts are used by researchers for allergen research. Our products will be delivered with a certificate of analysis including a SDS-page (CBB and Silver stain) and protein content (based on Bradford and BCA). Our products are produced accordingly high standards and are being used by multiple researchers and diagnostic companies worldwide.
